Name of Trek KEYLONG TO KILLAR (PANGI VALLEY)
Period July-September
Duration 6 days
Day-1

Keylong-Udaipur, 54 kms By bus.

At Udaipur visit the wooden temple of Mahishasurmardini, known as the Mrikula Devi Temple. The wood carving in the temple will certainly captivate the visitor because of sheer intensity of theme and projection. This temple has the most unimpressive exterior, but the inner facade speaks volumes about the richness of its carvings.

Day-2

Udaipur-Tindi, 28 kms By bus.

In the morning one may like to go to Trilokinath temple built in shikhara style. The statue of Lord Avalokiteshvara is beautifully carved in white marble. In the afternoon catch bus for Tindi. The village is reached by crossing a JHOOLA bridge across river Chandrabhaga. One does not have to go to the village because next day trek is also along the right bank of the river.

Day-3

Tindi-Raoli, 16 kms on foot.

Follow the metalled road on the right bank. Raoli is the last village in the Lahaul valley on this route. There is a PWD rest house at this place.

Day-4

Raoli-Purthi, 15 kms on foot.

Upto Shaur the road is metalled. From there follow the unmetalled road on the right bank upto Purthi. Forest rest house is available there. The trek becomes greener from Udaipur onwards. Good patches of conifer forests and alpine meadows can be seen on way.

Day-5

Purthi-Cherri/Sach Khas, 16 kms on foot.

Just for a km or so follow the right bank of the river till you reach the bridge across Chenab or Chandrabhaga. Now onwards the track is along the left bank. Just short of Sach Khas there is a bridge across the river. If you plan to stay in the rest house at Cherri, cross it to reach the right bank. Otherwise continue journey.

Day-6

Cherri-Killar, 14 kms on foot.

From Cherri follow the right bank of the river to reach the sub-divisional headquarters. Rest house facility available. Visit local temples. From Killar one has the option of going to Chamba, Kishtwar in J&K and Zangskar region of J&K.
