This trek takes you into the unexplored Pangi valley through lush green Myar valley and over the Gurhdhar pass, altitude 5105 m

Day-1

Keylong-Udaipur, 54 kms By bus

Visit Markula Devi Temple.

Day-2

Udaipur-Karpat, 18 kms On foot.

Trek along the right bank of the Myar nullah upto Shakoli. Cross the bridge to follow the left bank till you reach Karpat. Good patches of conifer trees can be seen around villages. The valley opens up from Shakoli onwards.

Day-3

Karpat-Gahr, 12 kms On foot.

Cross the bridge across Myar nullah and follow the right bank of a side nullah just short of the bridge on the right bank of Myar nullah. Go along the nullah to reach the flat meadows of Gahr. Thickly forested with junipers and blue pines.

Day-4

Gahr-Bhator, 14 kms On foot.

Climb to the 5104 m high Gurhdhar pass. Offers a very good view of several snow clad peaks. Climb down along the right bank of a nullah originating from the pass till you reach Bhator, the place of night halt.

Day-5

Bhator-Saichu, 14 kms On foot.

Continue along the right bank till this nullah meets the Saichu nullah. Camp at Saichu for the night among thick deodar trees or stay at the Forest rest house.

Day-6

Saichu-Sach Khas/Cherri, 15 kms On foot.

Go along the left bank of Saichu nullah upto Cherri or Sach Khas where it merges into Chenab river. Rest house available at Cherri. On way halt at Shali village to see fountain slabs exquisitely carved.

Day-7

Cherri-Killar, 14 kms on foot.

From Cherri follow the right bank of the river to reach the sub-divisional headquarters. Rest house facility available. Visit local temples. From Killar one has the option of going to Chamba, Kishtwar in J&K and Zangskar region of J&K.
