This trek takes one over the Kugti Pass alti 5040. This is not a very simple or easy trek.

Duration 9 days
Day-1

Keylong-Rapey, 25 kms By bus and on foot.

Upto Shansha go by bus. From there cross suspension bridge to reach this village on the left bank of river Chandrabhaga Camp outside the village.

Day-2

Rapey-Got, 10 kms on foot.

Climb along the Rapey nullah is stiff. Flat camping ground on the bank of the nullah is available in the Got which means shepherds halting place. Good meadows.

Day-3

Got-Duggi, 16 kms on foot.

Duggi plain is reached after climbing the 5040 m high Kugti Pass. Climb to the pass is difficult. From top one gets a very good view of Mani Mahesh peak and Dhauladhar ranges. Duggi is pasture land and good camping ground.

Day-4

Duggi-Kugti, 11 kms on foot.

Cimb down is along the right bank Of the Buddhal nullah. It is an easy track.

Day-5

Kugti-Hadsar, 13 kms on foot.

Trek along the right bank of the Buddal nullah. Hadsar is the jumping off ground for Mani Mahesh and Bharmour

Day-6

Hadsar-Dhancho, 11 kms on foot.

The trek upto this place along with a side nullah is tiring as well as lonely. One may like to accompany the pilgrims for sake of company.

Day-7

Dhancho-Mani Mahesh, 8 kms on foot.

One reaches Mani Mahesh by crossing a glacier. This blue water lake is set like a jewel among thick pine forests at the base of 5575 m high Mani-Mahesh Kailash. There is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva right in the middle. One may like to stay at Mani Mahesh for the night or prefer to come back to Dhancho for rest.

Day-8

Dhancho/M. Mahesh-Hadsar, Return journey.

From Hadsar bus service is available for Bharmour.

Day-9

Hadsar-Bharmour, 14 kms on foot.

Bharmour is sub-divisional headquaters of Bharmour. Earlier known as Brahmpur, it was under King Meru Varman. At Bharmour visit Chaurasi Temples including the famous Shiva, Narsimha and Sulakshna temples. Some temples are built in the Shikhara style. The work of renowned craftsman GUGA can be seen here. PWD rest house, Sarais and hotels are available to suit every pocket. Chamba is 65 kms from Bharmour.
