This is yet another trek from Lahaul that goes to Bharrnour sub-division of Chamba. This route is taken by shepherds who come to Lahaul for summer gazing.

Day-1

Keylong-Udaipur, 54 kms By bus.

Udaipur is sub-divisional headquarters. Visit the Temple of Mahishsurmardini, locally called Mrikula Devi in the main market of this village. The temple is the only of its kind in Lahaul. Its wood panels are exquisitely carved. The temple is built in the Kashmiri style. Rest houses available. For permit contact Executive Engineer PWD at Udaipur.

Day-2

Udaipur-Arat, 8 kms on foot.

Trek back to the bridge over Chenab. Cross the bridge to go to Trilokinath village. Visit the temple. Beautifully carved white marble image of Lord Avalokiteshvara is installed in it. Also visit Saptadhara where seven springs originate. Distance about 2 kms. Also visit the water source to see beautiful fountain slab. From Trilokinath come to village Arat situated on the right bank of the river and below the road. One may visit the fountain slab in this village too.

Day-3

Arat-Alias Got, 12 kms on foot

Cross the suspension bridge at Arat across the river. Once on the left bank, go to the deep gorge of the nullah originating from glaciers of Chobia pass. There is a foot bridge across this nullah. Follow the left bank to reach the Got. Camp just below the tongue of the glacier on lush green meadow. Gaddis can also be seen camping there.

Day-4

Alias-Baggi Got, 14 kms on foot

Walk over the glacier to reach the pass, alti 4966 m. Trek down to the Got along the right bank of the nullah originating from the pass.

Day-5

Got-Hadsar, 12 kms on foot

Along the right bank of the nullah where it meets the Buddhal nullah. Ford the smaller nullah and follow the right bank of Buddhal nullah to reach Hadsar.

Day-6

Hadsar-Dhancho, 11 kms on foot.

The trek upto this place along with a side nullah is tiring as well as lonely. One may like to accompany the pilgrims for sake of company.

Day-7

Dhancho-Mani Mahesh, 8 kms on foot.

One reaches Mani Mahesh by crossing a glacier. This blue water lake is set like a jewel among thick pine forests at the base of 5575 m high Mani-Mahesh Kailash. There is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva right in the middle. One may like to stay at Mani Mahesh for the night or prefer to come back to Dhancho for rest.

Day-8

Dhancho/M. Mahesh-Hadsar, Return journey.

From Hadsar bus service is available for Bharmour.

Day-9

Hadsar-Bharmour, 14 kms on foot.

Bharmour is sub-divisional headquaters of Bharmour. Earlier known as Brahmpur, it was under King Meru Varman. At Bharmour visit Chaurasi Temples including the famous Shiva, Narsimha and Sulakshna temples. Some temples are built in the Shikhara style. The work of renowned craftsman GUGA can be seen here. PWD rest house, Sarais and hotels are available to suit every pocket. Chamba is 65 kms from Bharmour.
